I'm a poet (published in journals, anthologies, no book yet) and working on a graphic novel/poetry hybrid. I'm also a composition instructor, a wife, mother, and runner (better at some of those things than others). My M.A. is from the University of South Dakota, and I am starting a graduate program in psychology at the university at which I am currently adjuncting.
My poetry is pretty "vanilla," i.e. I am not very experimental. I like narrative free verse and traditional forms, so naturally the piece of writing I am currently most proud of is a creative non-fiction interactive, digital text I built using Twine and humorously terrible Microsoft Paint illustrations.
I've tried a little bit of everything as a teacher; for example, my students have written mini-ethnographies of community and campus groups/places, created PSA videos, and made games to convey arguments (think: Minimum Wage-The Game!).
